Avira

Hi All,

I've ben using Avira AntiVir for about 10+ months, and everything I tested it
with (I have quite a few viral infected archives) worked fine.

I'm thinking about upgrading from the *free* version to their premium version.

What everyone around here think of Avira?

Not too too bad eh. :)

I was surprised to see AVG up in the rankings, didn't care much for AVG. Avira
is easy on system resources too.

AVIRA Guard runs in the background, monitors files during operations such as
opening, writing or copying and repairs them, if necessary in real time.

Thank you. I wasn't sure if you were talking about some other utility/program.

What you described is called "On Access" scanning.

Yep.

Never*the*less I find Avira a good program, been using the free version for
about a year now, thinking about upgrading to their premium version. :)

Re: Avira

I used and recommended Pro AVG for several years, but when v 8 came out I
found it as bloated and slow as the other AV programs. I turned to Avira and
have been pleasantly surprised. It seems very good after about two months
now.
