Still happening; I was right not to believe that Anti-bot made a difference, coz it didn't. |

Message appears consistently when following several (but not all) links on my personalized "my.yahoo.com" page - but not during load of initial content; appears during / after load of some of the advertisement content. Expect Yahoo to be looking into this - guessing that some malware-planting attempt has been in play. |

I've had repeated instances of this message today when opening Yahoo News stories in new tabs in Firefox3 on an XP Tablet PC. |

| Its happening to me with Firefox on FreeBSD 6.x, so I seriously doubt that its related to either the O/S or the browser. |

I am having this same problem since late last night/early this morning, it just appeared and i believe i was on one of my usual shopping sites. Today it is appearing more so, or so it seems on Yahoo and like another person said, even more when i'm opening mail. I've emailed Yahoo to ask what they know and I hope they fix this soon. It's highly annoying as I'm sure you already know I'm running Windows XP and was using IE v.6 but then upgraded to v.7 thinking maybe that was the issue but it wasn't. Tried a system restore too. From all i read here, it's not specific to any common thing except in many/most cases, Yahoo seems to be the common denominator. Last edited by Buckykatt : 15-08-2008 at 04:20 AM. Reason: add text |

Needless to say, I don't think I'll be trying to change any of my preferences any time soon. Not until this is resolved, anyhow. |

It looks like my initial association with the MegaMillions site was timing coincidence. I was also on Yahoo! in other tabs and this may be related to a news video bandwidth preference (vague recollection of clicking a setting). Most likely a bug by a lazy speller who slipped a crippling typo in the code. I haven't seen it pop up today. Jack |

This probably won't work for mail users, but in order to read news in IE, I set the website in my "un-trusted website" list, which inhibited scripts from running. I think "local news" won't work, however. |

I had the same problem since last night, when opening any/all Yahoo emails while in IE but not in Firefox. I’m using an AT&T Yahoo IE7 browser. After googling the error message “we were unable to save your preferecens” I found that others had solved the problem by deleting their entire IE browsing history – which I did, including checking the box “also delete files and settings stored by add-ons”. The problem is now solved. Hope that works for others reading this. |

| Error Message
I am also getting this error message from Yahoo. It happens when I'm in my Yahoo email account and either hit delete or try to go to the next email, etc. I can't figure out where it is coming from but it doesn't seem to pop up when I'm reading Yahoo News. This is very aggravating. Any suggestions? Is my computer being hacked or something? Thank you. |

So far this morning seems to be much better; hasn't happened yet. I've been reading yahoo.news articles all morning without incident. /knocks on wood |

| So Far So good I'm knocking on wood also..it seems that to this point, whatever it was has been fixed as I've been checking Yahoo Mail just fine. Here's hoping it stays that way. |

Thanks for the heads up Flowerchili9. Had a Facebook friend have the same problem a couple of days ago, and there wasn't much out on Google at the time. The only thing I saw was using the new Yahoo email. |
