domain admin rights

Can anyone tell me a way to give a group of users equivalent rights that domain admins have without them being a member of the Domain Admin groups or any of the other built in groups. Thanks.

I think that you have to be more detailed in specifying what is exactly you are looking for. You can try to check out some previous thread made on "how to make regular user a default admin for Computers underhisOU" and see if that helps you out.

You can try to delegate a lot of rights and also be more specific what you are trying to archive.

You can also try to remove and rejoin computers to domain and then change the computer name, install software without having to logon as domain or local admin or using run as. After that RDP onto servers and then create shares and assign permissions to shares. Try to do that and let us know the results.

There isnt a simple solution as far as software installation is concerned, because required level of priviledges vary greatly depending on the way the app installer was designed and areas of file system/registry that are affected by it. Incase you want some quick workarounds, then add users to the local Administrators on Target servers/desktops, you can do this using GP Restricted Groups, and then delegate necessary permissions to Computer objects in AD.
