Upgrade Windows 2003 R2 Standard to Enterprise Edition

I am having a domain controller and a member server. It is running on Windows Server 2003 Standard edition. Now I want to upgrade that to Enterprise edition. Before upgrade I want to move ahead with simple procedure. I think if I go with the same blindly there can be problem with data. It might be lost. I do not mess any existing configuration. How can I safely upgrade without loosing data.

You have to provide a proper upgrade path. But still there is a risk of loosing data. So better take a backup and then move ahead. Do not just go for the upgrade just like that. You might face problem in future. Because there is no chance to revert the changes back once you had performed all upgrades. There are nice guides on web that give you complete information on the same.

there is an upgrade path - I am contemplating the same upgrade - were you able to do this successfully? Did you end up with a re-install?

    Thans in advance.
