How to resolve error of "Root hints list has invalid root hint ser

Hey guys, I’m facing some problem with my server. Since past few days I keep getting an error message whenever I run the dcdiag /test:dns. The test results are as follows:

1 test failure on this DNS server
This is not a valid DNS server. PTR record query for the 1.0.0.127.in-addr.arpa. failed on the DNS server 202.12.27.33

Can anyone please help me with this? As far as I know the root hint server info is good but still don’t understand what is creating the problem.

Well that is not enough to get to the cause of the problem. Can you just post the complete ipconfig /all as well? Apart from this, also try running:
dcdiag /v /fix > c:\dcdiag.txt
netdiag /v /fix > c:\netdiag.txt
and attach the two files with your next post please.

I would like to know few more things such as what is your DCDIAG version and have you installed any service pack in the OS?

This is an internal DNS system. I don't really want it to resolve external names (use Forwarders for that), just overlooked a step of removingthe root hints list.

As for using an internal to resolve external, no need to remove the Roots. Just setup a couple of forwarders. More than likely the forwarders will resolve and it will never get to the Roots.
