| WSUS 3.0 client computers not populating WSUS console
I have no computers populating the console of WSUS. I have no firewall or proxy settings. I have redone the Group policy to ensure that it is set up correctly. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks |

You already asured the Group Policy got applied on the clients? Try a "rsop.msc" on a client in Start->Run. Does the policy show up? |

Check if the GPO is correctly configured and its being applied if it does, then you can try the batch provided. |

One key issue I haven't seen answered for an issue like this with GPOs: Where MUST the WSUS edits be done in the GPO? Must is be the Computer- Default Domain Polcy? Or can it be an =OU - sub GPO?? |

Try using a news client, such as Forte Agent, Thunderbird, or even Outlook Express, instead. It's a lot easier to do nearly everything that way. You can mark messages to be watched, filter the views so you can see replies to your posts easily, and search. The Microsoft public news server is msnews.microsoft.com and you can subscribe to as many groups as you like; no authentication is required. |

| Re: WSUS 3.0 client computers not populating WSUS console
GPOs have to be linked to an OU where the user or computer account is located. Do NOT change the both Default policies, better create a new one and link it to the needed level. In case of bigger problems you can go back to the default with unlinking/deleting self-created GPOs and just having the defaults in place. For the problem of the OP described earlier, which is not readable here, i fully agree with Lanwench. |
