Re: Restore ADAM unique instance

Can I do the restore to the different Win2003 server name?
Ex.: Have Win2003 server name W2003Test, install ADAM instance called ADAM1.
Do the backup of ADAM1 then shut down the server W2003Test.
Start start new Win2003 server name W2003Test2, and folow your steps to
restore the ADAM instance ADAM1. Everything works but I can not connect with
edsiedit.

I am getting an error when I try to connect to the ADAM1 on server W2003Test2:

The directory property cannot be found in the cache.

This is most likely related to permissions.
When you installed the original instance, whom did you designate as the ADAM
admin? One of the best options there is to set machineName\administrators
(i.e. builtin\admins) as the ADAM admin. If you do this, and move the
instance to another box, then the set of local admins on that box
automatically becomes ADAM admin (because BUILTIN\admins has fixed SID).

Hi, I am having the same problem. I have one server where I log in as adamadmin and the other server I log in as administrator. Both the accounts are members of 'Administrators'. Is there some way to check these permitions?

are these two servers members of the same configuration set?
What kind of accounts are adamadmin and administrator, are
they windows accounts or adam accounts?
