LDAP over SSL

What are the possible options available to enable LDAP over SSL. I am trying to do the same on a test domain, but somehow it is not working well. There is a problem of certification here. I had issued the certificate from Stand Alone Microsoft CA. And also installed the same on member server. But still it fails to work properly. When I try to connect directly to LDAP I am getting a error.

Check that you had properly installed certificate on the domain controller. There must be some type of server client authentication process which is causing the problem. I do not think you have to go for LDAP over SSL. You can simply do the same by connecting directly to the domain controller.
