    GPO/ESC enabled

    I am trying to add some sites to Trusted sites zone of the IEs of the clients
    by using a group policy by following these steps;
    User Configuration>Windows Settings>Internet Explorer
    Maintenance>security>security zones and ratings
    But when I go to properties of security zones and ratings I get an alert box;
    You have chosen to import settings that are only compatible with Windows
    Server 2003, Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration. These
    security settings will be ignored on machines where the Enhanced Security
    Configuration isnt enabled.
    To import settings for the enhanced security configuration, click Continue.
    To import setting for users where the enhanced security configuration isnt
    enabled, click Cancel, then remove the enhanced security configuration and
    import the standart settings from the previous dialog.
    To import setting for users who login to computer in both scenarios,
    configure a GPO/IEAKPackage for each scenario and deploy both packages to the
    same users.
    I choose Continue and then import the trusted sites and OK.
    However the trusted sites are not reflected on the client PCs.

    The easiest thing to do is install adminpak.msi on one of your XP clients.
    Configure your trusted sites accordingly on the XP client. Then use AD Users
    and Computers from the installed adminpak to modify the GPO and import the IE
    settings.

    You are experiencing this problem because of the enhanced security
    configuration of IE in Windows Server 2003 and when the client receives the
    Internet Explorer Maintenance CSE it does not know what to do with it as it
    is designed for a later version of Windows (2003)

    Re: GPO/ESC enabled

    But then I get an error when viewing the settings of the GPO within the GPMC

    "An error occurred while generating report:
    An unknown error occurred while the HTML report was being created."
    do you know how can I fix this ?

    You are responding to a post from 3 years ago. Your infrastructure is
    different than others, including the original poster. Service pack and other
    updates have possibly fixed it since 2006.

    It is best that you start a new thread stating the problems you are seeing
    and providing whether you see any event log errors, other issues, operating
    sytem type and service pack level, as well as an ipconfig /all. This type
    of info will help us evaluate the problem in order to provide a more timely
    response.
