Domain Controller crashed, how to move roles to New DC Built

    Hi

I have a Win2k3 Domain with 2 Domain Controllers. Unfortunately One Domain Controller Crashed and was having the below listed roles along with DHCP. How ever we had DHCP backup and restored the backup on Alternate Server. But Roles needs to be moved over to New DC Built. How can i do this and along with this i need to clear up all the records pertaining to the crashed DC.Please Guide me step by step to perform this Operation. (confusion between Seize and Transfer Roles) what will apply in this case.

    Schema owner Server1.X.COM
    Domain role owner Server1.X.COM
    PDC role Server 2.X.COM
    RID pool manager Server 2.X.COM
    Infrastructure owner Server 2.X.COM

Server1.X.Com is Dead Server and Server2.X.Com is Live Server.

As per my understanding i need to login to current working DC and seize roles. Post seizure roles will be automatically transferred to connected server right. What changes can be experienced in the domain as the server crashed approx more than a month.

    Thanks

You can try to split-scope using wizard, Split-scope configuration (Widely known as 80/20 Configurations) is typically considered as high-availability deployment scenario for the DHCP Server. More information can be found here - http://blogs.technet.com/b/teamdhcp/...ng-wizard.aspx
