| internet explorer 7 or 8 + group policy
Hi, I have windows 2003 Domain controller and use group policy for internet explorer settings. User Configuration (Enabled)\Windows Settings\Internet Explorer Maintenance\Connection/Proxy Settings\HTTP:192.168.2.1 and Administrative Templates\Windows Components/Internet Explorer\Policy Setting\Disable changing proxy settings : Enabled According these settings all users proxy server is 192.168.2.2 and users can not change their proxy settings. At some users, when you upgrade internet explorer from 6 to 7 or 8, we can not see proxy server IP address. I mean it is emty at some users. The others are okey. Users are using windows xp or windows 2003 terminal server. And also we did, Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System/Group policy\Policy\Internet Explorer Maintenance processing : Allow processşng accross a slow network connection : Enable For example a user open Windows 2003 terminal server, his proxy settings are okey but when he open windows xp proxy server settings are disable but empty. How can we solve this GP problem ? Regards Aytekin Celebi |

Hello Aytekin, Do you also add or copy the IE8 .adm file to the administrative templates? Hello Meinolf, I could not find IE8.adm file. But if would like to ask inetres.adm we have and installed. The GP settings are correct, let me give an example : create a new user in a TEST organization Unit which GP's are explained down below. Proxy server setting is emty and disable. Normaly proxy server settings must be filled 192.168.2.2 and disable. Now remove this user to another ornanization unit which has no addinional GP. So you can manually write proxy server as 192.168.2.2. If you move user to test OU again. You see that proxy server is 192.168.2.2 and disable. If you answer I will be pleasure. regards Aytekin Celebi "Meinolf Weber [MVP-DS]" wrote: > Hello Aytekin, > > Do you also add or copy the IE8 .adm file to the administrative templates? > > Best regards > > Meinolf Weber > Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers > no rights. > ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups > ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm > > > > Hi, > > I have windows 2003 Domain controller and use group policy for > > internet > > explorer settings.
