| netdiag says "The DNS entries for this server are not registered..
Hello, I recently added two domain controllers to the domain, in preparation for retiring two that are running on older hardware. There are currently five DCs in this child domain. Four of them pass all tests on "dcdiag" and "netdiag". The 5th one fails netdiag, with an error that says "The DNS entries for this server are not registered correctly on server "x.x.x.x" "Netdiag" lists three DCs in these errors. The fourth DC is not mentioned at all, either failing or passing. Things seem to be working fine other than these errors. Replication works with all partners, SYSVOL is consistent, and DNS changes made on the server that fails netdiag are replicated to the other DCs (at least they are when you hit reload). A bit of history on the situation: Yesterday all of the DCs were failing DCDIAG except for the one that is currently failing netdiag. I found an article on Technet that said to temprarily set all DCs to the DNS server that has the most info. I did that ind it worked and they all passed dcdiag after that. But I still have this netiag issue. The DC that is failing "netdiag" is the PDC emmulator and RID master. I would greatly appreciate any help to troubleshoot and correct this issue. -- bb |
