Server 2000 not connecting Home Directory

I have Dell XP sp3 laptops connected to a Windows 2000 server domain with Active directory. Most of the time when users log in to the system using a wireless connection, they lose their home directory which I have set up for them.
I set up the home dirictory in their profiles, I do not have
them in log in scripts. It does not appear to be switch related the disconnects are random. I can remap the drive and it will connect back to their folder. Also if i connect them using ethernet cable I can get the network folder to connect almost every time. Neither of these is a workable solution though as i need these to be mobile and have students login to them independently.
I thought my original problem was with SteadyState installed, but have since disabled Steady State and still have the problem. I have also tried changing the xp machines GP to "Always Wait for Network at computer startup" this didnt seem to change anything. The problem appears to be completely random, but seems much worse on these new laptops.

Does anyone out there have a resolution to this
problem, or ANY ideas please? i have been chasing my tail on this for way too long.

Re: Server 2000 not connecting Home Directory

You must give permission to read and write to the user. Starts in administrator> Right click the folder> Properties> Security> Give here the necessary permissions. I think the Security menu exists only on XP Pro, XP Home if you do not know if it's possible like that. Still trying to find a place to give permissions. In addition to XP Home does not open the account admin: - /
