| Windows NT Backup - Restore Utility
Can Windows NT Backup - Restore Utility be used to restore backup taken on Windows Server 2003 onto a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine? I know that it supports Windows Server 2008, how about on R2 |

Hello carl, No, as Windows server 2008 R2 doesn't have the "Removable storage manager" which is a requirement for the Utility to run. The Removable storage manager is not longer available in WIndows 7 or Windows server 2008 R2. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...01(WS.10).aspx Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm > Can Windows NT Backup - Restore Utility be used to restore backup > taken on Windows Server 2003 onto a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine? Hello Jorge, I tested it on Windows Server 2008 R2 and it prompted to install the "Removable storage manager" before. But this one isn't included any longer in Windows server 2008 R2 or Windows 7.
