| Global Data Catolog/Exchange
Do not seem to be able to delete this one. Can someone delete as duplicate. Folks I am having problems installing exchange on one of my servers. I had exchange 07 installed but it would not load in the MMC so I uninstalled it. Tried to reinstall it and get a message that the Global Data Catolog cannot be found. I have aslo noticed that I cannot access Sharepoint which is installed on the same server. Neither is in production yet but plan was to go live this week. I have uploaded 2 files from the DC: ntfrsutl.txt - result fo running ntfrsutl ds on the DC dcdiag - result of running dcdiag on the DC I have also included the IP config files from the server giving problems and the DC. Hope you can help. | Re: Global Data Catolog/Exchange
Active Directory data store contains all catalog information about the recipients, and other important resources. Domain controllers communicate changes in the data warehouse, using replication with multiple masters. Access to the Active Directory information provided by the global catalogs. They can be used to search for information and in some cases to log into the domain. The domain controller assigned to the global catalog server stores a full replica of all objects from the data store (of the domain to which it belongs).
