setup printer from GPO

Hi All,

I setup a printer server from manage all of network printers. Now, when I
setup any printer for user, I should ask client to login, then I went to
Printers & Faxes in XP to manaually to add printer for users. In each
department office, I setup some printers. I want to use GPO to setup printers
for certain user in certain office when they login or setup add printer for
certain computers which is in certain office. For example, in QA office,
there are two printers, I want to add these two printers to QA's computers,
when user login, they can use it. Or add printers when users login. I want to
setup printer automatically.

Any idea? Thanks a lot.

RE: setup printer from GPO

QQ,
I would recommend you use group policy preferences (GPP) for this and use
item level targeting to deploy the printers depending on the OU the users are
in or by group membership for example. You will need to set the GPO on Vista
PC with RSAT or on a W2008 server. The DCs can be 2003 though. You will need
to install the XP GPP extensions onto the XP PCs first
