Adding partition query

Hello what is the difference between adding a partition with the dnscmd and adding a partition with ntdsutil.

I think I am confused between AD LDS partition and DNS partition, can you please explain further

dnscmd /createdirectorypartition

ntdsutil partition management create nc / replica etc....

In the end, they're both application partitions for the directory
service. It's just a new directory partition that stores DNS
information. You'll also end up configuring the replication scope as by
default, it isn't replicated at all (if I remember correctly). So you'll
either have to specify the DCs among which the partition is replicated
or use let it replicate to all DCs in the domain or the forest. I think
