SYSVOL

How do I cause the sysvol to be updated?
I've looked online but the answers for 2000 and 2003 don't apply to 2008.

What do you mean by updated? The SYSVOL is replicated by FRS in Windows
- that happens automatically. What are you trying to do?

Cheers,

Re: SYSVOL

Hello Jacques Latoison" Jacques Latoison at hotmail dot com,

Please be more specific about your problem. AD replication normally occurs
automatically, doesn't matter which OS version is used.

Re: SYSVOL

Hi Jacques

What make you think the fault is with SYSVOL, and it's Flie Replication
Service. Are 1 or more DC's posting events in the FRRS event log about
NFTRS_JRNL_WRAP conditions etc. Could it not be a AD fault, as FRS uses the
repliccation topology and scehdules from AD Sites and services.

Run Microsoft Sonar, to see what the errors is for SYSVOL, in the long term,
install Microsoft Ultrasound as a monitoring services and troubleshooting
tool. How is the AD replication, have all DC's been contacting each other

Regards

Re: SYSVOL

I leaned towards the SYSVOL as one DC couldn't get new info from AD even
when you made changes to the AD on that particular server.

I appreciate the info below though.
I wasn't aware of Microsoft Ultrasound.
Does it work on DFRS? I've since migrated from the FRS to DFRS.
