| large files in SYSVOL - multiple physical Sites
Good morning, All! Just a quick question: is there any problem putting in 100MB files in the SYSVOL shared folder? Many of the environments that we support have multiple physical locations (corresponding Sites in AD) with Domain Controllers in those physical locations. Thanks, Cary |

The file size shouldn't be an issue here - FRS is capable of handing that well. I'd be concerned about the bandwidth and the line utilization. If those sites are in a common time zone (or time zones that don't differ much), you could create those files during night. Schoenen Guten Morgen, Florian! That is what I wanted to hear. Some of my colleagues think that putting these huge files (well......what is "huge"?) in the NETLOGON share for lots of different things is a good idea. As you so aptly stated, the file size - per se - is not the issue. The *possible* issue is the multiple Sites (and, as such, WAN connections....T1s are usually in play here) and the fun replication over those WAN connections.
