| AD Crashes
Hi There, I am running Vista x64 with the x64 Server 2008 Admin Tools. I can used the tools just fine, but as soon as I try to do a search, the console crashes on me. At first I thought I did something wrong, so after trying all sorts of things including uninstalling the toolkit and reinstalling, I finally ended up scratching the machine and starting from ground zero. I reinstalled the OS got everything up and running, and then tried the search again. Crash. Rebuilt workstation again, installed tools first, tested works fine. Installed Office 2007 tested AD, works fine. Added the SCCM snap-in tested, worked fine. Haven't installed anything else, AD works fine for a week. This morning, I ran a SCCM report, then few minutes later attempted to do a search in AD, and crash. This is driving me crazy. I have not been able to figure out how to correct the issue without doing a complete rebuild on the workstation, which is not an option. I don't know if there is a correlation with SCCM or just coincidence. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Debbie |

Hello LilDeb, WHat kind of search do you mean? Within AD UC? Or with windows search? Please be more specific? What error message is displayed? Event viewer errors listed, then please post them? Sounds for me not AD related, more Vista specific or maybe hardware. Sorry about that... The crash happens when I do an AD UC search. Here is the Event Viewer entry: Faulting application mmc.exe, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x47919524, faulting module printui.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791adcf, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00000000000366a5, process id 0x%9, application start time 0x%10.
