Restore ADAM Instance Configuration Set

I have two ADAM instances one is master and the second is a replica. I am
currently backing up via NT backup the ADAM instance on the primary ADAM
server. If I need to restore to the configuration set do I need to do an
Authoritative restore or can I just stop the adam service on the slave?

Re: Restore ADAM Instance Configuration Set

Hi
it depends on what you are trying to do. If you really want an authoritative
restore,
that is to overwrite some or all data in the directory with the
configuration and
data from the backup then following the auth restore
procedure will do that by performing the auth restore on any instance for
which you
have a valid backup. Any other instances in the configuration set do not
need to
be stopped, the replication of the authoritative configuration and data will
overwrite
the configuration and data of the other replicas that is the way the
*authoritative*
restore is designed.
Data from a *non-authoritative* restore to an ADAM instance
in a configuration set may get overwritten by more recent data on other
instances
in the configuration set by replication.

For other restore scenarios see [1]
