Re: Need replication Time.

Assuming default configuration, in a Windows Server 2003 AD environment,
these changes should replicate in no more than 15 minutes within a site. As
far as inter-site replication is concerned, this would also depend on site
topology (links, connections, bridging) and schedule of the site links...
Note that password resets are handled a bit differently from other changes -
they are pushed (on the "best effort" basis) to the PDC emulator from the
domain controller on which the reset takes place - although from that point,
replication process follows the same rules as standard changes.
Logon script changes are also subject to the SYSVOL replication - for more
info refer to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc962199.aspx

Re: Need replication Time.

Hello Admin,

Intrasite a change notification will be send within 15 seconds(2003) or 300
seconds(2000) from DC to DC. See "Domain Controller Notification of Changes"
in:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc772726.aspx

Intersite there is a schedule from minimum 15 minutes up to 180 minutes.

Additional you have "Urgent replication" mechanism, scroll down in:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc772726.aspx

To use Urgent notification for intersite you have to enable change notification
between sites. By default NOT enabled.

Best regards

Re: Need replication Time.

Meinolf,
You may alrady know this but urgent moves the replication request up the
queue but it doesn't force immediate replication. It could still sit in
queue for a long time depending on the current activity occuring between
dc's. The attribute can be misleading. I'm not trying to say it doesn't
work only that wasn't sure if you were aware of this.

Re: Need replication Time.

Hello Paul Bergson [MVP-DS],

That detailed i didn't know that Paul, thanks for clearing this. :-)

BTW: Do you have a link where the urgent replication part itself is more
detailed described?

Best regards

Solution: If you are working locally. then within minute. if you want
replication another site then it will take minimum 30 minute. also depend
upon network trafic.
