Domain Profile is not copying locally

i have a phillips mp3 player that i use to play my music instead of taking up
hard drive space.

the problem is, when i remove the portable drive, i lose my desktop and
email settings until i plug it back in, and all my shortcuts and settings are
there. i have looked it over and cant find why.

any help would be appreciated.

yes, it is copying to the portable device. the problem is, i do not want it
to. i want my domain profile to stay on the local machine

Hello Jerry,

Then change the settings. Do you have any group policy in place? How was the
portable setup? look at reversing the setup process of the portable,

Yoour PC desktop/profile should be located in the C:\Documents and
Setttings\user name Yo can copy everything from portable to above location,
see if it resolved issue

i do agree thats where the profile should be, and while it is, the documents
and desktop and everything else is empty.

i have renamed my profile and created a new one, but everything still copies
to the portable drive the minute i plug it in to listen to the music.

there are no policies in place as this is a very small company.
