| Secure AD comm with SSL - interrupt service?
I need to secure AD comm. with SSL. If I install/configure my own CA on my domain controller and get the certficate created, issued, and installed will this have any impact or interrupt regular AD services? I just don't want users to not be able to login for some reason. I have 4 domain controllers. |

Mike - refer to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc784450.aspx (in particular, the section discussing increased processor load). hth Marcin "Mike55" <Mike55@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B5A97275-4486-4DF0-B1E4-0A489D06ED54@microsoft.com... >I need to secure AD comm. with SSL. Good to know about processor load, but I'm more concerned with regular authentication. Will any authentication or other AD services be interrupted or changed when I install the Enterprise CA Root and create a cert for my domain? No - the availability of standard authentication mechanisms should not be affected... hth Marcin "Mike55" <Mike55@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:522776F9-AD63-4C94-89F9-5E67902D4ED9@microsoft.com... > Good to know about processor load, but I'm more concerned with regular > authentication. Shouldn't be an issue. You may have to reboot after the install (I don't recall) but won't impact users not being able to authenticate, there will be no interruption of service. -- Paul Bergson MVP - Directory Services MCTS, MCT, MCSE, MCSA, Security+, BS CSci 2008, 2003, 2000 (Early Achiever), NT4 http://www.pbbergs.com Please no e-mails, any questions should be posted in the NewsGroup This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
