| Mandatory user profiles share
When using mandatory user profiles, how many users can safely use the same mandatory profile concurrently? So for example, there are 50 kiosk computers that auto logon as the user man1 and use the same mandatory user profile \\server\profile\man1. |

Considering that the same mandatory profile would be downloaded to users computers at logon, you should take into account such factors as the profile size, storage/network I/O on the server, network bandwidth between the server and clients, as well as typical/maximum number of concurrent logons in order to determine whether loading the same shared profile will actually have any noticable impact on your users hth Marcin "gira" <gira@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7779E057-4968-4539-A640-C478173B1539@microsoft.com... > When using mandatory user profiles, how many users can safely use the same > mandatory profile concurrently? > So for example, there are 50 kiosk computers that auto logon as the user > man1 and use the same mandatory user profile \\server\profile\man1. > > > |

Shouldn't be a problem of how many users are using this since it is a read-only set of files. The question would be how well can your central store point manage the download of the profile. Personally 50 to me, sounds like a perfectly acceptable amount of machines but I don't know your environment. We easily had the many back in the old NT days w/o any issues. -- Paul Bergson MVP - Directory Services MCTS, MCT, MCSE, MCSA, Security+, BS CSci 2008, 2003, 2000 (Early Achiever), NT4 http://www.pbbergs.com Please no e-mails, any questions should be posted in the NewsGroup This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
