How to setup AD LDS for use with LDAP applications?

There are many LDAP enabled applications with me, but I am looking to get NAS and Adobe's Version Cue to work with Windows Server 2008 AD. So, what I have found out is that AD LDS is what I need to use to do this. Is there anyone who can verify this, and also provide a sample of how to set it up? I have never worked with LDAP before so, I need some help on it? Thanks.

I cannot understand what you are trying to setup in a greater details, its hard to tell you through all the methods. AD LDS is actually a directory you can use similarly like AD, without the security and protocol overhead that it brings. Check out the below link for some more information:

You should also know that AD is already a LDAP directory, so there is nothing specifically eliminating it as a potential directory to use for your particular applications. As well, the data you already want to access is likely in AD and not in Ad/LDS, so you would need to get the data into LDS to make it useful for that purpose. LDS is not a proxy directory. There could be other products that do that but microsoft doesnt make one.
