Hello sunil, Make all DC's in a single forest domain GC server. No need for moving FSMO roles. There is nothing special that will be required of you. Bring a new member server up into the domain and run dcpromo, promote it to a dc and if you have AD integrated dns then point your clients to this dc as a secondary dns server. -- Paul Bergson MVP - Directory Services MCTS, MCT, MCSE, MCSA, Security+, BS CSci 2008, 2003, 2000 (Early Achiever), NT4 http://www.pbbergs.com Please no e-mails, any questions should be posted in the NewsGroup This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Hi -Add the sond DC and make sure that the clients have a DNS server to query that DC and the other one. -Making both GC and DNS servers is generally a good ideia. Assuming that you're going to have on both DCs the DNS service, mnake sure that the clients have in their NIC both DNS servers. -- I hope that the information above helps you. Have a Nice day. | Re: problem in configuration additional domain controller
Sir One more thing i want to know that if we have two Dcs (Dc1, Dc2) in a single domain forest. Dc1 have all five (FSMO) roles and another Dc2 have not any role but both Dcs are Global catalog and both Dcs have active directory integrated Dns. Then suddenly our Dc1 goes down and that is not recoverable, then how many changes require making the Dc2 like as Dc1. Please resolve the problem Thanks Sunil kumar |
