| Screen Saver group policy
Hi Everyone I need to enable the screen saver timeout and password protect it on a group of computers. Obviously there is a policy to do this for users but how can I do it for all computers in an OU. I know it is possible to merge a user policy with a computer policy but is there no simpler cleaner way? Thanks |

Hello Brendon, As you see yourself this policy is user based NOT computer, so configure it for the users and you are done. Doesn't matter which machine the user logs in, she/he will get the policy. If the target users are in an OU with others who do not need the policy then put the users who need the policy in a group and then change the Security filtering on the GPO to only apply to users in that group HTH Irv "Brendon B" wrote: > Hi Meinolf > > Unfortunately the users are grouped with others users who dont have this > requirement and this isnt something I can change. |

You can use loopback processing here. Loopback makes computers "apply" user settings basically: http://technet2.microsoft.com/window...E97DB1033.mspx http://support.microsoft.com/kb/231287 If it's only for a group of users on those machines, you'd have to tweak a little with permissions: http://www.frickelsoft.net/blog/?p=63 cheers, Florian -- Microsoft MVP - Group Policy eMail: prename [at] frickelsoft [dot] net. blog: http://www.frickelsoft.net/blog.
